So how long has The Start been together?
Aimee: The Start has been up there since '99.

That's a long time. Have you kept all the same members?

Aimee: No, we've had a few different members. The original line up that's on the first record left after we had our first record company and then we had a few fill in members last year, and then Eric and Billy joined this summer.

So who's been with this since the beginning?

Aimee: Jamie, the guitar player, and myself.

What made you want to call yourselves The Start?
Aimee: Haha, There's this Loverboy song called "Working for the weekend"... "You want a piece of my heart, you better start from the start."

That's great, why are you laughing, it's beautiful.
Aimee: Because it's absolutely ridiculous.

So you guys are from L.A.?
Aimee: Ahh, yes, well technically I'm from L.A., Eric's from Texas, Billy's from Kansas, and Jamie is from California.

*Erick Sanger from The Start walks up.*
Hi Erick, I'm from the music website Dirty Children Dot Us and I'm doing an interview, you want in?

Erick: Wow what is that?
Aimee: It's her Dictaphone.

Yeah, it's my voice recorder.
Erick: Holy sh*t that's really cool.

Isn't it?
Erick: Yeah.

So how do you guys like being on the Girlz Garage Tour?
Aimee: It's been really fun, we've met lots of cool people.
Erick: And lots of girls.
Aimee: And we've had lots of Dance Parties.

How's it feel to have a chick lead singer?
Erick: Um, it's actually pretty cool.
Aimee: Pretty hot.
Erick: She is pretty hot.
Aimee: I didn't say I was hot, I said it was pretty hot.
Erick: Yeah, but you're pretty hot.
Aimee: No, you're hot.
Erick: You know what I don't even think of it as having a girl or a guy. She's just a singer. She's a fun person, she's better than most, so that kicks ass.

Is this your first headlining tour?
Aimee: It's not a headlining tour. It's kind of like the bill rises every night and when you go to the top, you go back to the bottom the next show.

So what's your favorite color?

Erick: Black.

Becca: And what's your favorite color?
Aimee: Black, like my mood.
Erick: Like my t-shirt.

So what are some musical influences for you guys?
Aimee: Siouxie and the Banshees.
Erick: Murder City Devils.
Aimee: Sonic Youth.

Are you going on the whole tour with this?
Aimee: Yeah we started in Boston we went down the east coast.
Erick: And then we're coming all the way back down to the middle. We got like two more weeks left.

That's awesome. So do you have any last words you'd like to say to the Dirty Children?
Erick: Stay dirty.
Aimee: No, take a shower.

*Everyone laughs.*
Ok, well thanks a lot guys.
